Lanier Stinger 'Stinker 2'

 

I bought this off of WR at the flying field. It’s 6’ long

with a wing span of 7’ and has seen everything on the nose

from a HomeLite 45, to a ZDZ 50 to it's current power plant,

an AXI 5345 outrunner. The ESC is a Jeti SPIN Opto 99 that

runs off of 2 6S 5000mAh packs in series for 12S and swings a

Mejzlik 22x8 prop. This combo yields an output of 185 watts/lb.

but I'm going to test out an APC 22x10 and 24x8 Electric prop.

The carbon fiber prop is nice but it doesn't have the design needed

to handle the constant power output of an electric motor. Odly

enough the electric setup came in a pound heavier than with the

ZDZ 50 but even with the inefficient prop it flies as good as it

ever did.
